Hello Happy Hour Club,

We wish we could be bringing you Happy Hour Club this week and actually had a great one planned around Alive at 5 and George Clinton (think PCU), but we are again out of town and will be unable to run the event. The same holds true for next week… we are out of town. However, we are hoping to be back at it the week of June 26th and will be coming to you with a fun event full of socializing. As promised, we are coming to you this week with a FIFA 2010 Happy Hour Club! We will be holding this event at Rowley’s Tavern in Norwalk on Wednesday July 7th (tomorrow) @ 6:30pm. This event will feature a replay of the Spain v. Germany semi-final game and some other soccer footage. Coinciding with this sweet soccer event is Rowley’s monthly Wing Eating contest (complete with a chicken suit)! If you want to try your hand at the wing eating contest, the cost is $5, includes a glass of milk and will be kicking off around 8pm. For regular specials, our members will be enjoying $2 Bud & Bud Lights, $4 Guinness, Bass and Smithwick’s and wine specials!

This week also features a new line-up in “The Management”. The regular crew is out of town on business, so some we enrolled a few volunteers to help us out, who are probably cooler and definitely better looking than the regulars. Don’t miss it!

Come join the Happy Hour Club and other local’s on Tuesday, June 22nd at Burger Bar in South Norwalk @ 6:30pm for Trivia!  Burger Bar just started their trivia night last week and considering that Alive at 5 will be occupying Thursdays starting this week, we thought a Tuesday night event would be a good idea. Trivia will be running from 7:00-10:30pm, and we will be putting together teams just before the start. There are a few drink specials going on too, so it should be a fun night all around!

June 19th-  2nd Bedford Street Promenade

Come join your fellow members this Saturday in Stamford for the 2nd Stamford Promenade with live music from Superband and PANA! These bands are competing for an opening spot at one of the Alive at 5 concerts. Come down and enjoy this June weather!!

June 22nd -Trivia Night at Burger Bar

Alive at 5 is kicking off on Thursday night and stealing that day away from us, so we figured we would head to Burger Bar the Tuesday before for their newly established Trivia Night!! We will be pulling together teams before hand and enjoying $4 Smirnoff & Smirnoff flavor drinks (perfect for icing), $3 Miller Lite drafts and $1 Jello shots.

July 7th – World Cup Semis Happy Hour

The final 2 semi-finals games of the 2010 World Cup will be held on Wednesday, July 7th in the AM. Considering that most of us work during the day, we thought a Wednesday night World Cup viewing was in order! So come join us at Rowley’s Tavern in Norwalk @ 7pm!

As promised, we are delivering you an event outside of Stamford this week! Come join your fellow Happy Hour Club members this Thursday, June 10th @ 6:30pm at Black Bear South Norwalk for a “Social Hour”! Our members will be enjoying some great drink specials throughout the night! If that isn’t enough fun for you, DJ Ryan will be pumping out the jams starting at 9pm and the Celtics v. Lakers will be on too!

UPDATE: The weather calls for thunderstorms on Sunday. If this is the case, we will need to cancel Sunday Funday.  Use your best judgment and if it doesn’t happen tomorrow we will get it right one of these days!

This past weekend we tried to throw together an out-of-bar event, Slosh Ball, but unfortunately failed due to “weather predictions” (which much to our disappointment proved untrue). To make up for it, we have decided to go full bore into this upcoming weekend with a Sunday Funday Happy Hour Club event!!!

We will be holding this said event Sunday, June 6th @2:30pm at Scalzi Park in Stamford! This is a “BYO” event, so feel free to bring your booze (no glass) in the event you want to maintain your fade or water/Gatorade if you need to hydrate before the work week. In terms of activities, we will be providing kickball, bocce, ladder ball, a football to throw and anything else we can strum up.

If you have a outdoor game you want to bring, bring it and we will try to make use of it. The end time of this first Sunday Funday is not known, but we figure a number of people will probably want to continue on at a local Sunday establishment, so let us know your plans (comments below).

A long time friend of the Happy Hour Club, Adam S. of Monster B’s, has decided after 3 good years  to pack it up and move to Boston. If you have ever been to Monster B’s, you might have met Adam. He would be the guy working the kitchen, the bar and at times manning the party bus.

Now we can understand Adam’s desire to uproot and move away, but to Boston? A place with no happy hours? We’re not joking about that last one… Boston does not permit bars to offer discounted prices in any format. Sure they can offer you a food special, but no drinks. Considering these circumstances, we have deemed in necessary to throw Adam a goodbye Happy Hour this Thursday, May 27th in Stamford at Monster B’s @6:15pm. Unlike Boston, we will be getting discounted drinks $4 drafts (30 to choose from), $4 house wines and $5 wells…..ALL NIGHT LONG. All you need to do to enjoy these specials is get a name tag when you get to the bar and tell Adam “Hello/Goodbye”.
