Every once in a while, one of our members goes out and does something amazing… This post is for our friend and Happy Hour Club Member/Attendee, Paul Ridley. Paul is currently somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, in a 19ft row boat, attempting to row 2,950 miles from the Canary Islands to Antigua. Why is Paul in a boat rowing? To raise money for cancer research!
In the future, we intend on having an event to help support Paul in his goal of raising $500,000, but in the meantime, we urge you to check out Paul’s website (www.RowForHope.com) and also to get in on his daily blog (http://solorow.blogspot.com/), which recounts his entire journey!

This Place Is Off the Hook! They Have Dolla Bills on the Ceiling!!
This Thursday, January 29th, The FCHHC will be headed to Ziggy’s Bar in Fairfield @7:00pm. If you didn’t already know Ziggy’s holds a very special place in our heart, much like the summer during this unfortunate thing called winter. On more than one occasion our happy hours at Ziggy’s have fell victim to weather, but we think there is a one in thirteen chance that we got it this week. For our members, we have setup a $10 open bar for 2 hours, starting at a time The Management deems appropriate. Unlike other open bar, this will include all drafts, bottles and everything else except top shelf. If that doesn’t sound like reason enough to come to happy hour this week, motivate yourself with the fact that you will almost certainly meet someone new and we will be pumping the jams.
National Pie Day Recap:
Thanks to everyone who came down to O’Neill’s to celebrate National Pie Day last week at O’Neill’s and a big THANK YOU to Michele’s Pies for being kind enough to join us in our celebration! If you didn’t get a chance to check out Michele’s Pies or were just wowed by them and need more, their store is located on Main St. in Norwalk, a little ways past the DMV. Also, check out their new sugar free pies, which made their debut last Friday!

Dear Members:
As promised, we have put together a spectacular event to honor National Pie Day (January 23rd)… Come down to O’Neill’s Pub this Thursday, January 22nd @ 7:00pm to join us in what may be the most “delicious” day of the year! If you don’t like pie, you can email us and we will take you off the list. As for specials, O’Neill’s will be extending their happy hour specials all night for our members!
Now back to the pie….we did our research and tracked down the best pies in all of Fairfield County (and the Nation for that matter). Who has the best pies? Michele’s Pies in Norwalk, CT!! Better yet, they have agreed to come and be part of our celebration this Thursday, providing our members with some samples of their best pies. Michele and her pies have several First Place Prize in the National Pie Contest, have been featured on Good Morning America! We have tried her pies and can wholeheartedly say that Michele’s is now our go to for sweet tooth fixes. This week’s Happy Hour Club event will also feature the music of the local band Jackson Fuse (Below)! Playing a jam style set, this should be a great show and perfect for our celebration of National Pie Day!
This Thursday is also in first meeting of the Fairfield County Young Professionals Network and it happens to be just down the street from our event… Their event is scheduled from 6-8pm at the Maritime Aquarium. It will include drinks, appetizers a tour and of course professional networking. The cost for the event is $25 advance, $30 at the door. Check it out.

The Happy Hour Club is continuing to go strong into 2009, with yet another geat happy hour planned for this week! Thursday, January 15th we will be headed to SBC in Stamford @ 7:00pm
Thursday nights at SBC is Karaoke Night and as you can see from the photo above, this should be a great night! Also, our members will enjoy $3 house drafts and a special $5 martini (TBD) all night with their sweet name tags!!

And guess what… this weekend our friends at Rack ‘N’ Roll will be kicking off their Best New Music Concert Series with 107.1 The Peak!!
To get things started, they will be featuring an awesome band from DC…. Jukebox the Ghost!!
This series is going to benefit the Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization, so get into it!!!

It has been a great season of Happy Hour Club events and a great season of College Football!!
Come down to Black Bear Sono this Thursday, January 8th @ 7:00pm for another great Happy Hour Club event and the BCS Championship game – Oklahoma vs. Florida!! In addition to what should be a great game (BCS qualms aside) our members will also enjoy $2 call drinks from 7-8pm and a $10 Open-Bar from 9-11pm!!! Stay around also, as things are sure to turn into another spectacular DJ Dance Party!
Also, a special thanks for all of those who came down last Friday night to Seaside Tavern to see The Void Union! Unfortunately, you did not get to see The Void Union, as their van, which runs on vegetable oil broke down and could not make it.
We did get some tunes from their friends from Providence, The Stress, who even went on without a drummer. We are planning to have both of the bands back soon, so stay tuned!
